Inspiration and Production process

Inspiration:
I intended to produce a piece of pottery works which could a piece of artwork with practical values.
At that time, I was in want of a brush pot and a container on my desk, so I decided to produce one to meet the practical need.

Front design sketches - traditional elements

1. the shape of the traditional luck bag reminded me of the neckline of cheongsam, and thus I produced some drafts. There were square necklines and round necklines in those drafts, and in the end, I decided to choose the round necklines and integrated the elements in those drafts, and finally identified the general shape.

2. inspired by the swelling shape, I tried to cut an opening and turn it into a sound amplifier. I also adopted a modern element – sexy lips.

3.In the start I intended to make four drawers for the treasure box, but later found the clay was not enough, so I just made two drawers.
Traditional Chinese culture underscores sophistication and moderation, so I designed a round pattern on the treasure box, and it also acted as the base of the luck bag.
